Call Family Reunion 2011

For the Call Family reunion this year we decided to try out a new place in St. Anthony, ID to fit our big family of almost 60 people (21 adults, 37 kids)! It was awesome! We loved the Three Peaks Lodge and it was a perfect size to fit all of us and had so many activities and things to do in the lodge that you hardly even needed to go outside for entertainment. Everybody loved it so much that we plan on going there for every reunion from now on!
Me and Afton were in charge of the whole thing; the location, the invitations, the decorations, room assignments, the schedule, organizing the activities, planning all the meals and shopping for the food, etc. so we were kind of stressed out by the time it came but it ended out being a huge success and we can't wait for the next one when we're not in charge! Here's the invitation that I made up and mailed to everyone:
The big family tree that I made to show how we are all related
Here's the awesome family photo that we got while there (thanks Becca for arranging this!)
Our individual family one
Leah playing with the huge blocks in the bunkroom that fit almost 20 kids
Abbie hot-tubbing with the cousins
Jared spent a lot of time whittling outside
And riding scooters in the gym
A big cousin birthday party (We had several birthdays during the week or so around the reunion so we just had one big birthday party for all)
Decorating t-shirts with their grandchild number on the back
Playing ancestor bingo, a game that Mom made up so we could learn more about our ancestors. She also made a huge pedigree chart with lots of facts about different ancestors, a fun game learning stories about each of them, she had coloring pages for the kids to do, and other things to earn fake money and then at the end we had an auction to buy things that each child had brought with the ancestor bucks. It was all great fun and we learned so many things about our ancestors. Thanks for all your help and hard work, Mom!
Hobie and Irene made this great obstacle course (a mini-Spartan race) for the kids to do one afternoon. Here's Abbie riding a scooter into the finish line
And climbing the rock wall
Leah at the finish line
Abbie doing the bigger kid's spartan race outside
We had a cookie baking contest one night that was way fun. Here's mine ready to go into the oven
Some of the participants
Judging all the entries
The winner was Walden! He was the only boy that competed and I thought for sure a girl would win so I made this apron for a girl. He said he would wear it with pride!
Riding the paddleboat
Playing volleyball
Leah with one of the many popsicles she had over the week. It was just nonstop fun for all the kids (and adults too!)
Porter in the car on the way from one reunion to the next, he was such a happy boy during all the driving that we did.
It was sad to leave this amazing place after a great couple days but we had another family reunion in Nebraska to look forward to. Thanks for everyone for coming and making it our best Call Family reunion ever!
