What does a princess, a smartie-pants doctor, and a magic 8 ball have in common?

They can all be Halloween costumes! Here we are at our ward party the other night:

My beautiful princesses, Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella

Doctor smartie-pants

And my belly as a magic 8 ball!

.
I actually got voted most creative costume in our ward! I never win anything, especially dress-up contests; I usually try to blend in and not do anything too noticeable but with a belly like this, it's hard not to be noticed. It's also not very often that I'm going to be 9 months pregnant on Halloween so I had to play it up!
Ready to go trick-or-treating

Excited about visiting our neighbors and getting candy!

This was my view most of the night, I couldn't keep up with the girls! They just kept wanting to go to more and more houses and by the end they couldn't carry their pumpkins, they were so heavy!

Checking out their loot

Happy, sticky faces
.
The best part of the night!

This brings back many memories of trick-or-treating for hours with my siblings and then trading candy once we got home, making piles of all the different kinds of goodies we got. We would eat all we wanted that night and then hide it in our rooms and slowly savor it over the next month, a little at a time until all that sweet goodness was gone. No wonder I had so many cavities growing up! And that's exactly why I hid 90% of it after the girls went to sleep. Now I just have to discipline myself not to eat that 90%!

What do you get when you kiss a frog?

Princesses everywhere!

Abbie's birthday was last week so we gave her and Leah new princess dresses the day of her birthday and they loved wearing them for a few days until her party on the weekend.

Abbie had six friends over and they all came dressed up as princesses. We had one knight in shining armor also! They colored castles...
Played on the hammock...
Chased bubbles...

Ate cake...

and opened presents.

Abbie has been asking me for a warm, fuzzy princess blanket for weeks so she was so happy when she opened this one

She got some great presents and loves having something new and different to play with every day during quiet time
All the kids who came to her party. Thanks for making Abbie's 5th birthday a great one!

Lazy days of summer

It's finally summertime here and we've been enjoying lots of time outside playing in the yard and at the pool, playing dress up inside when it's raining, and just being silly and having fun with not too many structured things planned. Here's a summary of our week:

Leah is ready for the sun in these cool shades!
.
Sisters cuddling on the couch
.
Riding bikes down the sidewalk
.

Enjoying ice cream at "Old McDonalds"

The paper apron that Abbie made for Leah to wear so she wouldn't get food on her shirt

My cute princess-fairy-ballerinas

.
Think we need a boy around here with all that pink and ponytails and dancing? Me too! We have our ultrasound in a few days to find out the sex and we could have another princess-fairy-ballerina on the way or a handsome prince! I can't wait to find out! My growing belly at 18 weeks.

"Warning, I am two" shirt that we got for Leah up in Mackinac Island. It is especially true on her. She looks all cute and innocent so you don't think that she could ever be naughty or throw a tantrum, that's how they getcha!

Finally a warm enough day to go to the pool! Yippee!

I'm not so sure about this place, are you sure that I used to like this?

That's better!

Unlike Abbie, Leah jumped right in this year with no fear. She took off playing as soon as we got there and didn't look back. It was a little struggle trying to get her to leave but we'll be back again soon, that's for sure!

We love summer and am so glad it is finally here!
