It's a girl! Introducing Olivia Rose Butler!

We finally had our baby and it's a girl! Olivia Rose Butler was born on March 29th at 4:06 pm.  She weighed 7 lbs 11 oz and was 20 inches long.  Everything with the labor and delivery went well, I was induced and started pitocin at about 10 am on the 29th and she was born 6 hours later!  I only had to push for a couple minutes so it was much easier than some of the labors with my other kids.  Olivia has lots of black hair and chubby cheeks and she looks a lot like Leah did when she was a newborn.  She eats and sleeps pretty great so far and we just love having her in our family.  All the other kids adore her and have been pretty helpful and nice to her so that's been great.  Here are a bunch of pictures of her and our family over the past two weeks.

Before...me at 39 weeks!

After...Olivia at 39 seconds old!  She weighed exactly the same as Abbie and Leah at birth, 7 lbs 11 oz.  I guess I just make them all the same!

First snow, haircuts, and an ultrasound

We got our first big snow last week and once the kids looked outside, I could barely contain them. They started putting all their winter gear on as soon as breakfast was over and ended out playing outside for an hour, even though it was freezing! Here they are all puffy like marshmallows!

Porter hamming it up in his new tiger hat. Say cheese!
Porter has been in need of a haircut lately so I decided to take Leah along and get her hair cut too. Here is Porter before:
And after
Leah before
During the cut (she did great, she has never had her hair cut in a salon and never this short)
And after, isn't she so cute? I love it! She looks a lot older, just in time for her birthday next month when she turns 5!

After Abbie saw Leah's haircut, she decided whe wanted one too so I took her back to the salon for a bob too.  She loves it and I think it's pretty cute too but it's going to take some getting used to with doing their hair since I'm used to doing ponytails most of the time and this is just barely too short for a ponytail.  It does look pretty cute with a flower or clip on the side, though, and that's pretty easy to do.

We also had the big ultrasound with baby #4 today and here is the little nugget. Isn't he/she so cute? We decided not to find out the sex because we finally have both girls and boys and don't need to buy much of anything and also because I've never experienced finding out at the delivery so I want to see how that is. It will be hard to wait and to have to come up with both boy and girl names but it will make the delivery day all the more special. I can't wait to meet this little baby in a couple more months!
