February happenings

We've done a lot of things this month and since it's the shortest month of the year, it feels like it's been even busier than usual. We've had ballet recitals, princess preschool parties, birthday swimming parties, Valentine's Day parties, visits up to Idaho to visit cousins, preschool field trips, lots of doctor and dentist appts, etc. Whew! I'm ready for March and a little slower pace and hopefully warmer weather!

Here's Abbie and Leah before their nutcracker recital

Abbie is the reindeer standing in the back left side and Leah is in the box just to the right of her

Being snowflakes

Queens for a day in preschool when we learned about the letter "Q"

Porter and his cousin Kaleb

Swimming at an awesome indoor pool for a cousin birthday party

Porter loved splashing and getting wet, way more than last summer

Abbie getting her Valentines ready for her classmates

Playing Bingo at her school party

We got heart-attacked!

They left some really yummy heart cookies too!

Abbie spent over an hour drawing with chalk all over our back patio one warmish day

She made me close my eyes and then she led me down the steps and to a certain spot before she would let me open my eyes. She loves drawing hearts and rainbows!

Visiting my sister's house in Idaho. Grandma came to visit too and read the kids stories and sang them songs for an hour before bedtime, they loved it!

Taking turns on their computers

Porter loved playing the piano and Abbie was a really good helper

Doing a duet with cousin Kaleb

Now that's a happy boy!

Visiting the Discovery Children's Museum with some cousins

A little car just Porter's size

Getting ready to go

What cute girls!

I'm so glad my kids live near their cousins now and that they can play with them all the time (and that I get to be near my sisters and play with them all the time too)! What a wonderful blessing family is!

First day of preschool

Abbie had her first day of preschool today and she loved it. She is at the same preschool as last year but the older classroom. Here she is in her first day outfit, isn't she cute?

No more pencils, no more books, no more teacher's dirty looks, yeah!

Abbie had her last day of preschool this week (because of summer break) and she was a little sad to hear that she wouldn't be going to school for a while. She has had a great year in the Rainbow Room, though, and loved her classmates and teachers. Here are some pictures of her last day:

They sang a song for us at the last day picnic and Abbie was the loudest and most excited one in her class to perform.

All her friends this year

Both of her wonderful teachers

She will miss them but will most likely see them on the playground and in passing next year when she goes to the older class. Until then, "No more pencils, no more books, no more teachers dirty looks, Yeah!!!"

Abbie's 1st day of preschool

Abbie started preschool this week! She was so excited all weekend and kept asking when she could go to school. On the actual day, I think she got a little nervous because a few times that morning she said "I don't want to go to preschool today, I want to stay home and play with you and Leah." But when it came time to go, she was excited to put on her new princess backpack, walk down the street, and go inside her classroom. She had a lot of fun this week painting, singing songs, reading books, playing outside in the sandbox, and doing all the other things they did for three hours. I really like the teachers and their classroom and Abbie seems to like the other kids and her teachers so far so I think it's a good match. Her teacher today said that she noticed that Abbie is so enthusiastic about everything and that she wishes she could bottle that joy up! Sometimes I wish the same thing! Here's some pictures of the big day:

Sniff! :) My little girl is growing up!
