Tomorrow is the last day I can say I'm 29 years old and not be lying! I've been simultaneously dreading and excited for my 30th birthday for a while now. Dreading it because now I'll need to start acting my age and be respectable in public. When I'm 29 I can go to the pool and splash around with my kids without getting a raised eye. I can shop at Old Navy or Gap and still think some of the styles are cute and get away with wearing them. I can listen to the music on the radio and identify most of the artists and bands and still sing along to some of the songs. I can still get away with using my Ipod in public and know how to use a cell phone, send an email, and set up a blog! I've even been carded when trying to buy cough medicine for the kids. Doesn't that make one feel good?
But I'm excited to be 30 because maybe now my age will make me seem more mature (if that's even possible!), knowledgeable, and fitting to where I am in my life. I have several friends who have hit the big 3-0 already and sometimes I feel like a baby to them when I admit I'm still in my 20's. I've accomplished all the things I wanted to by this age. I have a great husband of 9 years, 2 adorable daughters, a college degree, a house, a minivan, and a 401K. I should be proud to say I'm 30! Plus, isn't 30 the new 20? So really I'm not that old at all. I'm just getting started on the best decade of life!
Anyway, I've still got a long way to go before I'm wearing dentures, Depends, and bifocals (despite the fact that I've been reading the Reader's Digest since I was a teenager and I already have hearing aids!), so I shouldn't be too concerned about my age just yet, right?
Even so, here's a couple of pictures to celebrate my younger days.

Christina! Happy 30th Birthday tomorrow :) You have not changed since you were 15 (except your hairdo :)). You have been so blessed to have done all those wonderful things in your life so far! I hope you have a great one! Sometimes people think I'm younger than I am. I always think it's because, number one, my height; number two because of how I never act my age! I don't know that I'll ever grow up completely, but I love to have fun so let the party begin!!! :)
Na, you don't have to act your age just yet . . . it's much fun still to get to act like a kid! Thanks for having us over last night. It was fun to get to see everyone and talk and especially to get to watch those videos. TOO FUN! Hope you had a great birthday!
Christina, it was fun to see your blog, thanks for sharing it (I got it off the myfamily website for our class). You have such a cute family!
